Throughout design and construction of this new consolidated campus, our team worked to maximize the opportunity for the building to be more than just a school, and find ways to generate income. We worked together with the client SFA and Turner worked with the district to develop an alternative funding package, freeing up budget dollars for other uses. We explored options with the District and a potential lease candidate to explore the feasibility of use of the theater by a church group on Sundays. In designing the stadium facilities, the context of possibly hosting regional and state tournaments was used to inform decisions on venue size and amenities to provide. The new theater is outfitted with rigging, lighting and sound systems that were designed for professional production, allowing the theater the ability to be rented for non-school productions by travelling companies and community theater groups.
