Three Rivers Local School District Three Rivers consolidated five schools from four communities across their district into this one building. Bridging the gap between the communities who lost their schools was critical to success. Our team worked in close collaboration with the community, recognizing the heritage of the old buildings was important. From the start, it was prioritized that this school would be the new center of the community. All of the key assembly spaces (gyms, cafeterias, theater, media center) were designed with the idea of secure after-hours occupancy, for use by outside community groups after hours, and some areas during school hours. During construction, numerous progress tours were organized to give residents and students a chance to see the school as it was constructed. This established a sense of pride and ownership of the new campus before it was opened.
