In 2002, our team provided renovated a former grocery store into the Jerome A. Schaeper Center for Elder High School. This multi-purpose building was designed as a flexible, multipurpose space meant for classroom instruction and events. After nearly two decades, the Center was in need of an update in order to support academic and event needs. We were again hired by the school to provide renovations which included updates to interior finishes, replacement of the current lighting system with a new LED system, replacement of the current HVAC system which is now integrated with the existing controls, addition of security cameras throughout, upgraded furniture for classrooms, offices and library, and creation of a dedicated makerspace in the library. By reconfiguring some of the existing space, we were able to add technology-focused rooms that now support the Elder News Network, journalism classes, and E-Sports.
