Fuel NKU is an on campus food pantry for Northern Kentucky University students. The mission is to engage the campus and community in the fight against hunger in a compassionate, confidential environment that safely respects dignity. FUEL NKU’s existing location was a 300 SF old mail room in the University Center, which had limited offerings because of the space constraints. With Kroger’s investment and Elevar’s involvement, the pantry moved to a 2,300 SF suite in the Albright Health Center. The food pantry expansion allows for refrigerated and freezer storage for healthier food options, as well as expanded areas for students to visit and relax after visiting the pantry. The location also has space to provide wrap around services for students for case management services, including connections to campus and community resources.
